Z loves drawing (obviously) and she especially loves to follow directions on how to draw something. A few weeks ago, she spent a long time at the kitchen table drawing birds and squirrels from directions I'd copied off the internet. Knowing she loves doing this, I bought a book from the Draw Write Now series and today we tried it for the first time. She drew a leopard and then wrote a sentence about it. I think we'll try a new animal a few times a week.
